Prayers are answered
All of the luggage has arrived! Clean underwear, deodorant - you name it - we have it! What a busy day we've had. The group got up early & headed to the Acropolis at 8:30. I heard they got some great pictures. I'll have to see them with you because Chris & I were picked up to go to work at 9:00 so we didn't get to go. The group went to the new Acropolis Museum. I saw it the last itme I was here & it's quite amazing. As you enter, there are acrylic floors so you can look down on the ruins. Karen & Paulette were having no part of that. Arnetha finagled a table to be set up down on the patio & they had lunch (OK - dessert) while everybody else saw the museum. When they got back to the hotel, Joey was there, luggage & all. Everybody went on the bus to move the girls into the athlete's hotel, which overlooks the beach. AHHHHH! The parents hitched a ride back to town on the bus & were waiting when Chris & I returned. In the lobby, we met a lady from Fla. whose son is competing in power lifting. She's here alone, so we invited her to dinner. We all went to the Plaka & ate Greek food at an open air cafe, then moved to a second cafe for dessert. Yes - we walked it off! What a perffect evening to sit outside & have the luxury of being able to sit as long as we wanted.
Chris & I went to the venue this AM. There was a corporate basketball tournament going on, so nothing was set up for our event yet. We did the draw, rotations, all the little details. We walked over to powerlifting & got some official training. We had cookies for lunch & before we knew it, the clock said 4:00 so we headed back to the hotel.
Tomorrow night, we have Opening Ceremonies! Let the games begin! Can't wait.
